Introduction
I worked as a freelance designer for the Wasooli mobile app. Wasooli, which means 'receiving' in Urdu, is a mobile application available for both Android and iOS platforms. It facilitates the creation of contracts for payments, loans, rent, and more. The app enables both parties to define their terms, maintain a centralized record for documenting updates, and set reminders for payments. The app is currently under development.
Define
Using the Product Requirements Document provided by the client, I meticulously mapped out all the requirements. Next, I developed a user journey map to outline the interactions and flow between the two primary actors (initiator and payer) within the Wasooli mobile app.
After client review and approval, these flows served as the foundation for creating the information architecture and designing the corresponding UI views.
App Designs
I created the UI designs for the mobile app from the information architecture and user journey map. I used Material Design components for the designs to ensure a consistent and familiar experience for the users.
The designs were created in Figma and included the following sections:
- Signup/Signin
- Home, Notifications and Settings
- New contract creation
- Contract views for both actors
Branding
I also created the branding for the app. I workshoped some moodboards and define the theme and feel of the brand. I then created the logo and branding mockups for the app. The branding was based on the Urdu form of Wasooli and 2 colors for both actors (initiator and payer).
